No, and I say that as someone who really couldn't cook. The guided recipes tell you what to add and when, and the machine handles the timing, heat and stirring. If you can follow a step on a screen, you can make dinner.

Yes. Lots of owners use it to make homemade dog food and treats: it chops, cooks and steams meat, vegetables and rice, and weighs everything as you go. Always follow your vet's advice on what's right for your dog, and give the bowl a good clean afterwards. Ask me for ideas.
