What is Cookidoo? The Thermomix recipe app, explained
The recipe app is half the magic of a Thermomix. Here is what it does, and the honest bit about the subscription.
When people see a Thermomix for the first time, they focus on the machine. But half the magic is Cookidoo, the official Thermomix recipe platform.
What Cookidoo does
- A huge recipe library. Over 100,000 recipes, from weeknight dinners to breads, desserts, drinks and baby food.
- Guided cooking. Send a recipe to your Thermomix and it walks you through each step on its screen, setting the time, heat and speed.
- A weekly planner. Drop recipes into your week so you always know what is for dinner.
- An automatic shopping list. Your plan becomes a list, with ingredients added up for you.
- Search your way. Filter by diet, cooking time or what is already in your fridge.
The honest bit: it is a subscription
When you buy through me, your first three months of Cookidoo are free. After that it is a paid yearly subscription. Ask me for the current price. Your Thermomix still works without it, and you can always cook your own recipes, but most owners keep it because it is what makes cooking effortless.
Why it matters if you can't cook
This is the part that changed everything for me. I did not need to learn how to cook. I needed to learn how to follow a screen. Cookidoo is the reason I can say it's a chef… I'm not!
